Title: FURNITURE INSTALLATION PROJECT MANAGER – ATC PRODUCTS (Willing to train the right candidate)
Report To: Lead Project Manager
Location: Onsite Whittier, CA FLSA Status: Exempt - Starting $85,000 annually
Position Summary:
Russ Bassett is a leading manufacturer of modular console furniture designed for mission-critical settings. This role focuses specifically on the niche market of Air Traffic Control (ATC), encompassing both Towers and ATC Radar Facilities.
The Project Manager (PM) will oversee projects from initial concept to installation and final approval. Responsibilities include providing technical support prior to order placement, managing logistics after orders are confirmed, coordinating product installation, and delivering ongoing customer support. This position is based at our headquarters and manufacturing facility in Whittier, California.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, your primary responsibilities will involve managing multiple stages of various projects concurrently, developing installation plans and timelines for all ATC projects, overseeing product installations, training authorized installers, delivering technical support to both customers and internal team members, and ensuring high standards of quality for products, project plans, and training materials. Ideal candidates will exhibit proficiency in many of the following areas:
· Overseeing different elements of ATC projects, starting from quote preparation to managing post-installation customer feedback.
· Leading the installation of ATC products during both the factory mockup phase and the final setup at the client's site.
· Collaborating with sales executives to review project plans and timelines, ensuring the company's commitments are met while achieving customer satisfaction.
· Providing technical support on Russ Bassett ATC products to internal teams, external contractors, system integrators, and clients.
· Supplying site-specific information to the RBC team to aid in room layouts and conceptual designs.
· Advocating quality throughout all phases of the project, including the final installation and on-site training for clients.
· Assisting in training manufacturing personnel to achieve adherence to quality standards and proper assembly techniques.
· Reporting daily updates on installation progress to the internal team and completing required contractor reporting throughout the installation period.
· Delivering post-installation documentation, such as punch lists, project reports, and installation photographs where permissible.
· Maintaining the ATC showroom and storage facilities.
Skills and technical requirements:
· Ability to successfully pass background checks and security clearances necessary for access to secure government facilities.
· The role demands up to seventy-five percent travel.
· A strong mechanical aptitude is essential, demonstrating proficiency in tool use and effective problem-solving skills.
· Candidates should possess strong leadership qualities and be capable trainers.
· Acquire familiarity with air traffic controller terminology to facilitate the development of positive working relationships.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, MS Project, and PowerPoint, is required.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
· A valid driver's license is required.
Physical requirements for this position:
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. during product installations.
· Capacity to climb five flights of stairs when working in air traffic control towers.
· Flexibility to work in confined spaces while installing products.
· Willingness to work off-shifts as needed by customer requests.
Helpful related experience may include:
· Project management/installation experience in a mission-critical furniture application or market.
· Sales experience within an organization that prioritized customer satisfaction.
· Formal training in project management, engineering, or architectural design.
· Relevant military service or experience with the FAA.
· Knowledge of various ATC equipment utilized by FAA and DOD air traffic controllers.
