We’re looking for a dynamic salesperson to join CORT’s Workplace team covering the thriving Houston area. This person must be a self-starter, competitive, and a networker who thrives in a fast-paced environment providing solutions to a wide variety of clients.

The Workplace Business Development Executive focuses on providing commercial furnishing solutions to clients for short term needs. These clients include commercial real estate, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, energy, finance/insurance, chemical/industrial, office furniture dealers, and modular companies.


  • Drive efforts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals
  • Build a book of business through one’s own efforts
  • Initiate research for local market trigger events 
  • Establish a strategic network of influencers (ie., CRE, A&D, C suite)
  • Develop and maintain monthly sales plans that deploy strategies and tactics to exceed revenue goals
  • Close incoming business opportunities from new and existing accounts
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while acting as the client liaison to fulfill needs
  • Use a collaborative approach that satisfies both internal and external customer relationships
  • Work with space planning to present furniture options and design elements to clients
  • Maintain quality records and use Salesforce daily to manage activities


  • Minimum 5 years outside B2B sales experience (Office furniture knowledge a plus) 
  • Successful track record of meeting and exceeding budgeted sales goals 
  • Experienced at cold and warm prospecting efforts
  • Strong presentation skills, orally and written
  • Experienced in developing sales plans around market trends and trigger events
  • Uses social media platforms to build relationships and thought leadership
  • Experienced in solution and value-based selling 
  • Project management experience  
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills 
  • Uses a collaborate approach to work with multiple decision makers
  • Strategic thinker that persistently overcomes obstacles 
  • CRM experience - Salesforce preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate industry is a plus
