The Senator Group seeks a field service tech to perform both technical services as well as project management support of our dealers. Our Senator Group, technical products team is responsible for the sale and delivery of architectural and technical related products that create private and collaborative spaces for today’s workspaces. The nature of these products with their acoustical and electrical features combined with the impact on the building architecture and potential codes, requires added support to our sales organization, both internal and external, as well as in the field, classroom or in the office.

This position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high-level of professionalism and teamwork. The Architectural Products Field Tech must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and within a team, on various projects around the country. This position requires interaction with various levels of professionals within an organization and extensive travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing customer support and technical services during the field visits
  • Diagnosing technical problems/errors and also determining proper solutions
  • Managing on-site activities such as installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks
  • Comprehending the requirements of customers and making appropriate briefings or recommendations
  • Building long-term relations with customers
  • Producing comprehensive service reports on a regular basis
  • Documenting all processes and scheduling the workflow
  • Collaborating with company’s technical team by sharing information throughout the organization
  • Following company’s procedures, regulations, and protocols
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to instruct/guide/train installation teams on site and certify if competent
  • Address problems on site, identify cause and implement corrective actions
  • Carry out Post Install assessments on site and create reports
  • Ability to travel required

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding communication skills and be able to liaise directly with client project managers
  • Be able to travel on a National and International basis, requiring and able to secure a U.S. Passport
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to meet customer and company demands (including outside of normal working hours)
  • Computer skills not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Be able to lift 50lbs
  • Be able to work with ladders
  • Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal as well as excellent interpersonal skills allowing them to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Must possess excellent judgment and decision-making ability when dealing with fluid situations
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, who has the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent prioritization and calendar management skills
  • Must be able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English, and possess competent ability to communicate verbally in English

Education:

  • High School Degree or a Technical diploma in a relevant field
  • Prior experience as a Field Service Technician
  • Bachelor’s degree not required but desirable
